Is everyone finished with their Uni supplementary applications? I daresay I still have a few left.

It's not too late for them... is it? I am trying to be punctual, but I feel the Seventh Year Stress seeping into my being in great strides.

Please don't fail me, Professor. I don't know how I can manage to make so many comments in one day.

Where has everyone gone? The library - a place where everyone should be crowding by the dozens and even hundreds - is horrifically empty. Lately, I feel as though I have stumbled through an abandoned mausoleum, where the dust of our wizard forefathers has settled unattractively onto the great tomes from which we enrich our great, expansive minds. Well, the ones blessed with the cranial capacity, at any rate.

We have exams! Surely someone besides myself must be worried? My fellow wizards- and witches-in-training, we must go forth and revise for what are - I implore - some of the most important examinations of our lives!

I shall be in the Ravenclaw common-room studying if you need me. Do join, for I miss our study-groups tremendously.

Also: Padma, I have gotten you a set of the newest release from Spells for the Spellbound for your birthday. I do hope you enjoy them.

Has anyone seen all the supplementary books for Advanced Transfiguration in the library? I went to ask Madam Pince about it but she said that all four copies of the books have been taken out. How is this possible, given that no one even reads them - or really anything - half the time?

If you've taken out any the four books, can you please lend me one? There is that important exam coming up in a few weeks and I would really like to get on top of things. One can never be prepared for an exam, I always say.

I made a book recommendation community. Anyone want to assist? You must be literate, by the way. And you must like books. And reading. And you have to be clever, like me.

Like, Oh My God.

I can't believe people are SO silly. I know I'm an AMAZING GENIUS, but I wish my house mates would STOP asking me to study with them because I have better things to do than study. This is life. Life without play is no life at all.

NON-STUDYING RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE, I SAY. SO STOP ASKING ME.

I understand that Tonight is The Ball. I also understand that I am supposed to attend even if I really don't want to. I, truthfully, would rather read.

Er, so. The Ball officially starts very, very soon. In less than an hour, I believe, if my magical watch is working correctly.

Hermione, are you going? You should go, you know, because you surely don't want to lose points for not attending. I'll be going too. But I said that already.

So I read some good books this week. You would like them, Granger. They're really your type of books.

Lastly, er. Hermione, are you going with anyone?

Professor, I need your help with something.

I've been looking through ALL the books I own and what's in the library and everything and I borrowed some books from other students but I really need your help with one thing in particular.

Thank you, Sir.

Today is Christ's birthday. I want books on him.

I don't really celebrate Christmas like most of you do, but I did get something for someone.. it's not much, but I hope you like it regardless.

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Well, last week I've discovered that when a Professor cannot teach that it's best to do your reading outside of class - so that's what I did and I simply took meaningless notes in class. Things I already knew, of course. I know, I'm a hypocrite for this matter, but really. But I've been having amazing test results - obviously, because I always have amazing test results.

Anyway, I've gained so much knowledge in the last month that my head feels like it's going to explode with facts. Granger, although bossy at times, is honestly .. not quite that bad. I would have expected more people to show up to our study meeting, because of course every body loves to study, but it was just her and myself. I've gotten to know her and she is, quite respectfully saying, a person that I could get along with splendidly. I still say I'm smarter than her, but I will happily agree to being her equal.

We've studied Didalus and Charms and Arithmancy and Ginoblather and Kurk and let's not forget - Ancient Runes. Amazing subject. She also has the most beautiful penmanship that I've ever seen.

I've also read plenty of good texts lately, if anyone is particularly bored or wants to gain knowledge! Ha ha!

Ron?
Weasley, what were you doing yesterday? At the lake?

It didn't seem like you were studying, but I didn't want to go closer because you seemed rather busy. ...

I can't seem to do it. I study and study and study and then, I study, but Granger only seems to run around with Weasley and Potter (which does practically NOTHING for her intellect) and she still manages to just prance into the room and get the highest mark possible. I would suggest that she's bribing the Professors but I will not stoop to that level (she's probably giving them special favours, if you know what I mean).

HOWEVER. This is me NOT giving up. I will beat Granger. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect. She is NOT perfect.

I think I have my motivation back. I have composed an incredible essay that will blow away Professor McGonagall's mind. My potions are far better than Granger's potions and Professor Snape will whole-heartedly agree. Watch out Granger, here I come.

Post Script - When do you want me, Parvati?

I can't stand it any longer - I HATE WRITING ON THINGS THAT ARE NOT PARCHMENT. I've lived through it long enough, I think, and I don't know about the rest of you but I truly believe that I should somehow transfer schools. How can I learn when I have to write on animal skin?

Good thing some books are still intact. I think I have read almost all of the books in Hogwarts, including, Hogwarts, a History (21 times in counting). I feel that my intelligence is rising as I type.

Did anyone see my notes, by the way? I think I'm losing them. But I don't lose things. I AM VERY RESPONSIBLE hence the Prefect-ship. Well, if anyone finds them, send them to me as soon as possible.

In other recent news, I do believe, however, that Operation Beat Granger is going well. I had a chance to talk to Professor Vector today about my standings and she just gave me a knowing smile. I know I'm going to beat Granger this year. I must prove that I am smarter than her - I must, do you all realize how long I have tried? All those failed attempts and all I have to show for it is, well, nothing. I know you're probably reading this, Granger, so let it be clear that even if I am amicable enough, I WILL GET THE BEST MARKS THIS YEAR. You are not perfect all the time! I hate having the Professors gush over you as if you were, so I'm about to set the bar. As of today, September 20, 1996, I am at War.

(Did anyone manage to get some food from supper? Bring it to the library when Madam Pince isn't looking so I can eat because I Will Beat Granger.)

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I can’t wait until term starts. Today’s study session has me absolutely excited. I can’t sit still. Thinking of all those new books and those new parchments and quills and all those new books and I can’t stop shaking I’m so excited I must find something to do something to read before I hyperventilate or something.

Right, back to reading.

I've been busy studying, if you all must know. Yes. Studying during summer holidays. I don't know about the rest of my house, but I, single-handedly, will gain us more points than ever imaginable. I will beat Granger in Arithmancy. I will persevere.

I insist that the Ravenclaws that can SEE this comment below. We are having a study session. I insist. Once a week, maybe twice! When is good for everybody? RAVENCLAWS ONLY, thank you.

My mum will make food if you come.

Is anyone surprised that I got a pig's skin for my substitute parchment? I didn't think so as they are one of the more intelligent creatures that roam this over-populated earth. It just goes to show that when they say my name – Anthony Goldstein – it is automatically linked with one of the finer, smarter specimens. All of you should be honoured to know me. And yes, ha ha, that was indeed a joke. I am also rather witty, ha ha.

But, to more orderly things - because I'm incredibly busy with Summer Work, I haven't had time to properly go through my preferred reading list. I planned to have read at least twenty novels by the end of the summer holidays, but of course, that is not my top priority. I will – let me repeat – get better marks than Granger this upcoming year. It simply isn't fair that she is in Gryffindor when Ravenclaw is what she deserves. I think the hat is biased or something equally unmanageable. And yes, I was joking again. Wit, you have shown yourself accountable.

Fellow Ravenclaws, as your Sixth Year Prefect (and all around motivator), I was wondering if we were going to have a study session this upcoming summer? All of you visibly “ignored” me when I suggested it and that's probably why we haven't won the House Cup. We're obviously not gifted in Quidditch (considering Potter will probably be on next year's team) so our brains will have to do. We're in Ravenclaw for a reason, let me tell you that! And we will override their cry of victory this year.

But seriously, what is this about a plague? A disease? Should I be careful, then? How do you get it? Is it contagious? I think we should all stay indoors, rather – but is it only transmittable to muggles? My Grandparents are muggles, I'll have you all know – so am I at risk?

I need answers, people.
